- janice1999 3y agoMy stack: LineageOS (or variant) + F-Droid (open source Email, Calendar, Notes, File-Sync, Cameras, E-Reader, VPN, adblocking software) + Firefox Mobile (Extensions, ad-blocking)
- raspyberr 3y agoI use GrapheneOS without a Google account and it's great.
- electricant 3y agoIronically, I bought a refurbished Google pixel last year just because it supported calyxos. Never looked back. Just recently they added support for more devices which is great. If you don't run anything Google on your device, you'll discover that an oldish (~4 years old) phone is plenty. Some app recommendations: * mapping: osmand * e-mail: k-9 mail * app stores: f-droid + Aurora store * contacts & calendar sync: davx * camera: open camera * YouTube: newpipe
- janice1999 3y agoGood recommendations. I recently switched from osmand to Organic maps [0]. FairEmail is also great. (I bought the Pro version). [1]. I also recommend AntennaPod (Podcasts), andOTP (2FA), KOReader (e-book reader), BinaryEye (QR codes etc) and Xtra (Twitch TV viewer).
