Have you ever played dungeons and dragons table top?
- okasaki 3y agoNo, I don't find that (or multiplayer games) interesting at all. I treat games like books - a solitary experience between the author and me.
- Loughla 3y agoSo that makes a ton of sense why you wouldn't like this game. It's a turn based rpg.
- michaelt 3y agoI'd wager 90% of in-person D&D groups do not roleplay sex or bathroom visits. I did expect BG3 would have an NSFW on/off setting though - if only for the benefit of streamers. I guess not one thorough enough for okasaki?
- Loughla 3y agoI'm with you on the sex scenes (and bathroom scenes? I must've missed that). I never want or need them. I was more responding to their complaints about turn based combat. BG3 nails that aspect, and it's strange to me that people don't like it. It's literally a turn based rpg.
- sanitycheck 3y agoI definitely liked it _despite_ the turn based combat. That was pure drudgery, but the rest of the game made up for it. I'll recommend it to my wife if they ever add a "tourist mode" type thing which dramatically speeds up the fights, she's got a lot less patience than me.
- Loughla 3y agoI'm legitimately confused. Why did you buy a turn based game if you don't like turn based gameplay?
- sanitycheck 3y agoBecause I also liked the D:OS games despite the combat. These games are mostly about exploration, stories, decisions - there's a lot that's not turn-based combat. I also liked the Banner Saga games - same. I love XCOM, which is way more turn based, because the combat is quicker and more fun.
- PH95VuimJjqBqy 3y agothat's such a shitty response. The other poster was pointing out that table-top is also turn-based, they made no claims about both being exactly the same in every respect. And I guaran-fucking-tee you someone, somewhere, has roleplayed sex in a tabletop session.
- michaelt 3y ago> The other poster was pointing out that table-top is also turn-based, That's not in their response as written. Could be they play at a boisterous table, with boorish jokes, a hypersexual bard, constant efforts to troll the DM, and tedious combat. > And I guaran-fucking-tee you someone, somewhere, has roleplayed sex in a tabletop session. Which is why I only claimed 90% of in-person D&D groups don't, rather than 100% :)
- PH95VuimJjqBqy 3y ago> That's not in their response as written. It is, it's just not explicit. > Which is why I only claimed 90% of in-person D&D groups don't, rather than 100% :) heh, fair.
