Why would drug manufacturers do that (instead of just using a limited corp per drug, for example)? Why would insurers take on some massive tail risk (and how would they get the capital for that)?
- from-nibly 3y agoI think insurers would just put pressure on the companies. They would just not pay for the medication unless it was proven to not put their customers at risk, lest they have to pay for the treatment of the treatment.
- RandomLensman 3y agoThe health insurer might not be the same as the one taking the tail risk on the medication.
