I have been using mobile phones since at least the 90s and have never broken one. (Motorola Sapphire was my first, 1G, and I still have it somewhere. Powering it up would probably break several laws at this point. The SIM was an entire credit-card size also...)

StarTAC? MicroTAC? Sapphire seems to refer to Motorola dashboard radios.
