A few months ago people were referring to him as dead weight, the Ballmer of Google who dropped the ball given OpenAI and the over hiring. As if Sundar were gone Google would get a Satya who quadruples the current stock price.
Plus the decline in Google quality and failure to diversify revenue streams?
He’s pretty couple to a story of popular stagnation at Google. Not sure where he could go. This is likely a puff piece to get people to propagate and push down old content.
- jjeaff 3y agoEven if Google had launched Gemini prior to GPT-3 coming out, I doubt it would have made much of a splash. Google is always announcing amazing advances that never materialize. How much of a difference in stock price did it make when they demoed that AI phone assistant back in 2018. I thought it was pretty amazing. Haven't heard a peep about it since then. And maybe that is Pichai's fault, but Google has been doing this for a long time.
