Elon Musk Drove a 9,500-Percent Surge in Pizzagate Content
- throwawaymanbot 3y ago[dead]
- kelseyfrog 3y agoThis is great news. Increased discussion means that the truth can rise to the top.
- galaxyLogic 3y agoDiscussing non-existent problems hides the real problems. And that is often the purpose. Bible clearly says that you should not spread rumors: Exodus 23:1 : “You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness." It's a sin because it is against Bible. Shame on Elon Musk. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+23%3A1&version=ESV https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+23%3A1&v...
- Red_Leaves_Flyy 3y agoIrrational conjecture. What’s come of Epsteins death and maxwells conviction? Oh… right…
- Zigurd 3y agoEpstein's operation was almost certainly in the business of collecting and selling compromising information on US business and political leaders. So, in addition to the underage being exploited sexually, it's probably a big national security problem.
- kelseyfrog 3y agoIf truth doesn't come out of vigorous and lively debate then the premise of free speech is wrong. Therefore, we must conclude that this increase in speech is necessarily good.
- krapp 3y agoTruth has never come out of vigorous and lively debate. Certainly not on the internet, where the power of misinformation and rumor to run rampant outstrip any capacity to counteract by any means that wouldn't be considered a violation of free speech (such as moderation.) How could it?
- kelseyfrog 3y agoI'm sorry, but I was certain that it's true that the reason free speech was important is because vigorous debate pushes truth to the top. People realize that they cannot win arguments against truth and change their minds. Is this not true?
- catlover76 3y agoMy manz is trolling
- galaxyLogic 3y agoSad. What is it with these people? Why do they spread terrible rumors while knowing they don't have any proof of them. And if they don't have proof it is clear it is just malice to spread such rumors. The world's richest man should know better but seems to be drunk with Twitter-followers
- rsynnott 3y agoNot just no proof; proof positive that the initial claim, at least, was bullshit, for one very simple reason. The restaurant in question _does not have a basement_. (This feels like laziness on the part of the person who made it up; it should be very easy to determine.)
- galaxyLogic 3y agoGood point, important distinction. It feels like misinformation like this is not even meant to be believed, but to serve as a cover, as in "I thought so because I read so on the internet". Plausible deniability.
- erikaww 3y agoIf only this energy and all the anger was directed in finding actual perpetrators of assault and charging them for their crimes. They are everywhere. The right loves to fixate on this, yet they aren't doing anything.
- Zigurd 3y agoTwo big targets are off limits: cops and domestic violence, and clergy and child sex abuse. That's not compatible with the overall program. Diversions are needed.

- krapp 3y agoYou would have a point if Pizzagate or any of QAnon's nonsense were in any way rooted in reality, but the right's obsession with imaginary leftist sex cults and trangender "groomers" does far more harm to legitimate attempts to stop sexual abuse than good. It's just the latest Satanic panic from these people. And no, they weren't right about Epstein all along. Epstein wasn't even on their radar, they were too busy trying to decode Podesta's emails. And when that story broke, all they did (after claiming credit) was try as hard as they could to pin as much shit on the Clintons as possible. Because that's really what this is all about - not stopping sexual abuse but demonizing their political enemies.
