It's funny to see the CEO of Lucid interviewed for this article, since Lucid differentiates its vehicles in part through their extremely long range (500 miles). Regardless, I do hope that this comes to pass. We bought a used PHEV with about 20 miles of all-electric ranges, and the vast, vast majority of the miles we put on it are electric. This short radius won't work for most people, but it works for us (partly because of the included ICE powertrain, and partly because it's our second car).
