One of the code generators in the Awesome Smithy list is at least more like "AWS adjacent": https://github.com/smithy-lang/smithy-dafny https://github.com/smithy-lang/smithy-dafny. Besides being able to generate Dafny clients for AWS services, it also uses Smithy as a foreign-function interface to let Dafny code interoperate with multiple other languages. There's also the fact that `smithy-scala` was developed by Disney rather than Amazon.
