I’d like to briefly state why I think this is on topic: Silicon Valley depends on the openness of thought and the optimistic attitude that universities once engendered when people like Frederick Terman worked to unite research and commerce into what we now know as the startup. What does the future of Silicon Valley look like when elite universities are being lead by people who act in this way? What kind of next generation of graduates are they producing, and can Silicon Valley survive their admission into our culture?
