Hey, me too. One child is enough for us. I was ambivalent, and in hindsight if I hadn't become a parent (organically or through fostering or adoption) it probably would have taken me longer to grow up and gain a sense of purpose beyond just exploring the world and feeling anxious. I realize now that I only thought I was happy but wasn't, not compared to now. I've let go of so much of my past to focus on now and our future, and the vasectomy played a role in that, for the peace of mind and logistical ease- neither my spouse nor I need any other form of pregnancy prevention.
Another upside is that the surgery tipped me into daily cold showers, initially as a way to prevent bleeding from the incision, and now, three years on, as a coffee replacement- it feels so good after getting out of the morning 1-2min exposure to tap-cold water, and the practice of doing something I don't want to do but will appreciate later has been helpful in general.
