Sidenote, are there any videos of a real world developer just programming real stuff, and using AI integrations like these sprinkled in? I'd be really curious to see how someone uses this. I use GPT/etc (currently through Kagi's Ultimate) so i have long seen value in them, but i've not yet figured out how to bridge the gap with integrating it directly into my code. Too often i feel like i'm writing logic and i don't trust LLMs to be accurate enough there. Sometimes i'm doing weird refactors, so maybe that is the place? Alas my editor of choice (Helix) doesn't support this so i'm sort of stuck left wondering. Would love to see it in real-world action.

I use GitHub Copilot IntelliJ plugin every day and would not consider going back to the pre-LLM state of affairs. I don't use it to generate entire classes or tests, because it doesn't work well for that, and definitely not for big refactors, but it works well as a "super autocomplete" for 1-3 lines of code at a time.

  It would be very impressive if Jetbrains tuned their assistant to generate structural search and replace[1] parameters. It's a very powerful tool, but it takes me way too long to figure out the syntax & API. But it could make big refactors much more practical and less risky than a LLM might be.
