How on earth would you get them confused?
- louthy 3y agoPresumably because ‘axolotl’ and ‘axlotl’ are very similar words?

- mhb 3y agoHow do you say its name: https://www.instagram.com/p/BgSGVvZlOz-/?hl=en https://www.instagram.com/p/BgSGVvZlOz-/?hl=en
- loloquwowndueo 3y agoYou would never confuse ice with lice despite the similarity.
- ndsipa_pomu 3y agoAnd yet lots of people confuse "lose" with "loose"
- otreblatercero 3y agoIf you loose it, you could lose it.
- loloquwowndueo 3y agoIf you loosen*
- loloquwowndueo 3y agoAnd don’t get me started on “it’s” vs “its” :(
- doubled112 3y agoWho was it that said something along the lines of "think of the extra o like a hemorrhoid, and hemorrhoids are never tight"
- ndsipa_pomu 3y agoOr think of the past tense - "loosened" vs "lost"
- qup 3y agoThis requires that I have a pretty good idea what a hemorrhoid is like. I'm happy to say that I don't.
- KolmogorovComp 3y agoLose lost its o.

- hombre_fatal 3y agoReminds me of getting cebolla, cabello, and caballo confused while learning spanish. And once my friend learning english asked me, frustrated, how easy it was for me to tell horse and whores apart verbally. They were let down when I said I probably never made that mistake in my life.
- stronglikedan 3y agoThe tank in Dune is based on the animal, and sometimes shares the same name spelling.
- stronglikedan 3y ago> An Axlotl tank or Axolotl tank was the "tank" by which the Bene Tleilax reproduced a living human being from the cells of a cadaver, producing type of clone called a ghola. > The name refers to a variety of salamander, and is from the Nahuatl words "atl" meaning water, and "xolotl" a shortening of “xoloizcuintle” or dog, therefore meaning "water dog". Both animals are tied to the Aztec psychopomp Xolotl. Axolotls have the capability to regenerate most of their body parts.
