I sort of agree. Quantum computing is interesting, AI is interesting, "quantum AI" is a meme and almost certainly not interesting. On the other hand the Google team do do a lot of cool research, and I assume the scientists weren't consulted by the MBA marketing idiots who came up with the name. The "wormhole" thing was scientifically interesting as a quantum simulation of a non-trivial gravitational thing. A lot of the media stuff was garbage, but the actual science they did was quite cool.
