A great find!

Wow, it's still online. One of the most interesting early websites.

I remember seeing this when it first came up (I looked it up, 1993). Somewhere in the late 90s I lost track of it. I'm very glad to see it is online. It is currently getting hugged to death, however it is available at the Internet Archive. The very first archived version of this page (1996) is https://web.archive.org/web/19961221052744/http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/ https://web.archive.org/web/19961221052744/http://pespmc1.vu....

"up/down/prev/next" is a fascinating control scheme but it makes a lot of sense

Great site … I believe it needs to make its rounds through the feed quarterly. Understanding Memetic architecture at first may drive one close to insanity. In the end hopefully one is educated to the point of constant laughter. http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/MEMEREP.html http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/MEMEREP.html http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/MEMES.html http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/MEMES.html http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/MEMLEX.html http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/MEMLEX.html

  > For example, meme vehicles can be books, photographs, artefacts or CD-ROMs it's interesting to consider the possibility of memes in the absence of observers real 'tree falls in a forest with no one around to hear it' vibes related thought: can a meme spontaneously generate/arise?

Great perspective and question. I assume that most are discovered vs. generated upon application of various mediums.

I remember this from back in the day. This invokes severe nostalgia pangs.
