Then people will start using AI to generate random traffic noise to fool AI watching them.
- dbcooper 3y agoOf course they won't. Classic techno-libertarian fantasy.
- TheLoafOfBread 3y agoOnes who want to stay hidden, will. Most of plebs won't.
- SketchySeaBeast 3y agoA small group of people making noise to try and obfuscate themselves will just draw attention, won't they?
- squarefoot 3y agoTrue, unless they use noise which is already present online to carry information, for example by applying steganography to spam.
- Analemma_ 3y agoIf only the people who want to stay hidden use noisetech, they stick out like a flame in a dark room and will immediately attract personalized surveillance (and maybe even retaliation merely for using it). It doesn't work unless everybody is on board.
- ghufran_syed 3y agoStarting with the "classic" techno-libertarian slaves who each claimed "I am spartacus"
- pixl97 3y ago[AI observer]: "Well look at this person of interest trying to fool the system, lets drop their credit score 50 points"
- forward1 3y agoThis is the same fallacious trope as "click on irrelevant ads to confuse marketers". People are not good at deceiving algorithms at scale.
- TheLoafOfBread 3y agoThat actually works. Sure one click is not enough, but purposefully browsing women's products on Amazon for few hours confused something and since then I am getting ads for women's products only.
- forward1 3y agoWhat problem have you actually solved by doing that, because you're still receiving ads and being manipulated through your continued use of those platforms.
- TheLoafOfBread 3y agoNone. I was drunk and this is the result. Now I am a woman for advertisers.
