I also attended a high-performing high school. These tactics don’t work as well with students who aren’t filtered or trained extensively to work in a rigorous academic setting. I’ve been in some typical Philadelphia school district classrooms as well, best of luck to teachers in that environment.
- s1artibartfast 3y agoThe tactics dont work in what sense? Are there students that learn better when there are no consequences and their peers are playing music in class or shouting over the teacher?
- jakeinspace 3y agoI'm saying basically no teaching tactic works when the kids have shitty home lives and have a real risk of getting shot on a daily basis.
- s1artibartfast 3y agoSure, then you need a means to triage and try to save who you can.
