Stay out of the way, let them merge code with as little friction and discouragement as possible. Anything that I would have implemented or approached differently I try to elaborate on. Even go so far as to write some (most or all) of the code in a comment or in a remote branch to share. I will still ship the code but let the submitter digest my thoughts.
