The environmental issues with bitcoin make it a bad choice for any application.
The idea might be good though but it is hard to imagine that the major powers won't have a strong hand in its inception if it ever occurs.
- jasmes 3y agoAgreed. Five eyes law enforcement is already all over crypto; can’t imagine they’d go easier if it became geopolitically influential.
- x86x87 3y agoThis is the wrong way to think about it. Apart from bitcoin, what other things have you worried about their environmental impact? If it's economical viable it's viable - we either have a free market or not. You cannot just ban things you don't like 'cause of "the environment"
