- out_of_protocol 3y agoWhich requires disabling/bypassing/breaking system integrity checks, because, you know, ads are essential part of the OS
- grishka 3y agoWhat system integrity checks? That's a thing now? I mean I did it for Windows Update and Edge and Defender in my VM, no problems so far.
- wslh 3y agoI asked you above to provide the specific details and contribute here in HN please.
- grishka 3y agoOkay. First of all, you need to ignore NTFS permissions — to do that, you need to either reboot into Windows' recovery mode or use another OS that supports mounting NTFS read-write. To disable Windows Update, delete (or move somewhere else) C:\Windows\system32\wua* Windows Defender: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender, C:\Program Files\Windows Defender Microsoft Edge: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge, C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate Telemetry: C:\Windows\system32\diagtrack.dll
- wslh 3y agoCould you please expand about this? Last time I checked it required to spend a lot of time to remove that options and/or run a "magic script" that I don't clearly know what it does (security wisely).
