Allowing an impulsive and dumb person to be the richest man on Earth, and wield power in multiple companies, including some critical for national security like SpaceX... does require a grand conspiracy.
That's millions of people: government officials, investment bankers and countless retail investors conspiring to feed him cash for his endless nonsense.

Employed cities worth of people? Or were you an emerald mine and few government handouts short of wild success? Give me a break.
