what emacs needs
1. Make emacs faster
2. While I dont mind elisp that much, add support for other languages a clojure dialect that compiles to elisp (a la clojurescript) might be nice
- tazjin 3y agoWhat speed issues are you seeing with Emacs? The only problem I had was opening very large C++ files with the built-in C++ mode. Using tree-sitter has fixed that problem.
- systems 3y agomagit , for me on windows, it was slow to the extent of making it unusable, i really liked magit features, but the slowness was a bit too much

- BeetleB 3y agoThat's a git and magit problem (and to some extent Windows), not an Emacs problem.
- tazjin 3y agoTo some extent? That's exclusively a Windows problem! On normal operating systems you can work with magit even in pretty large repositories, and certainly in regular sized repos. Magit even has an FAQ entry about it.
- BeetleB 3y agoPart of the problem is not having a git library, and thus magit relies heavily on spawning processes. So yes, a git problem as well.
