I don’t have any reason to trust Sam Altman much. To me, he seems polished enough to actually be slimy. He’s well liked by others but wealthy tech is a particularly insular group. But my god, in what world should the future of “AI safety” be in the hands of a small board of directors that works in a completely opaque manner and with uncertain motivations or capabilities? Surely humanity’s fate is not meant to be guarded by the Quora dude.
