- infecto 3y agoThey are in the same wheelhouse. HTMX is more generalized, Turbo/Hotwire is more opinionated. HTMX can easily be run anywhere in any language. Turbo is easiest run in Rails/Ruby.
- williamcotton 3y agoI've used Turbo with a web app written in C: https://github.com/williamcotton/express-c/blob/master/demo/views/index.mustache#L7 https://github.com/williamcotton/express-c/blob/master/demo/... https://github.com/williamcotton/express-c/blob/master/demo/controllers/todo.c https://github.com/williamcotton/express-c/blob/master/demo/... :)

- rossta 3y agoSimilar goals, different philosophies and approaches. A few differences: HTMX makes it possible to enhance any element with hypertext capabilities. I don’t believe it works with JavaScript disabled. Hotwire still relies on <a> and <form> to make HTTP requests as its focus is more geared towards progressive enhancement; the Hotwire portions of the app will still work with JS disabled.
