I think we have an inflated respect for modern medicine because it gets a lot of the credit for health outcomes we actually owe to modern sanitation.
- ls612 3y agoAntibiotics and the childhood vaccines are modern medicine and have had an enormous impact on modern health outcomes. The bigger issue is that we picked a lot of the low hanging fruit in the 20th century so now advances are harder to come by.
- refurb 3y agoThe outcomes of antibiotics, diabetes drugs, cancer drugs is indisputable. You can't fake someone dying of those diseases versus being alive today.
