I wonder what the purpose served is though. One if the nice things about Haiku is that it's not POSIX based. One thing I was annoyed about was the porting of POSIX. Although that bringing WINE to Haiku might make it worth it. But the disruption this causes to the core aims of the project, as the thread states. Haiku is about having a tightly integrated OS API experience, the opposite of the *nix philosophy.
