I've been watching a lot of the footage coming out of the conflict. The Israelis were using almost exclusively Mk-84 2000lb class warheads with various guidance kits attached (JDAM, Paveway, Spice). These are the largest class of commonly utilized air dropped warheads, the others being 1000lb, 500lb and 250lb. There were pictures of them staging hundreds for the initial assault and it's likely that ultimately thousands were dropped. These are not "precision" weapons, they are 100 times the size of the warhead on the AGM-114 hellfire missiles which are commonly used for counter insurgency operations and have a fragmentation radius in excess of 400 yards.
The Israeli army also possesses a fleet of specially armored Caterpillar D9 mining bulldozers which appear to be a central part of their current combined arms/armored doctrine on the ground. These are 4m tall, over 100,000lbs and, unusually, are used as front line units destroying buildings so ground troops don't need to fight amongst them.
The combination of these strategies really seems to suggest this isn't a counter-insurgency campaign at the planning level. They very much seek to pave over the entire strip.
