That's pretty antisocial behavior. Humans walk, humans drive cars, and we have good reasons for both modes of transportation. Crosswalks are an attempt to allow coexistence safely. Antagonizing people who are using a different mode of transportation at the moment does not seem helpful at all. You may even cause other people to become accustomed to seeing crosswalk signals activated for no reason, reducing their attentiveness and increasing the risk of injury to people actually crossing the road.
