I don’t think the perspective of selling product X should be judged in a vacuum because it can do things like subsidize battery costs. For video cards they got to the point where average consumers could buy them and then that started the road to accelerator cards. Saying that people shouldn’t buy something is naive and disingenuous. People will buy things regardless of anything else.
