This is a tech forum, and no one yet has asked how a stuffed bear with a camera in its eye is being powered or retains wireless connectivity while she's at college.
If this wasn't creative fiction, I'd say the first sign that these parents never had anything to worry about would have been that their daughter either didn't notice or wasn't concerned that her beloved rechargeable teddy bear was stuffed with electronics.
