Moving from Unity is hard, but I really feel like that company is on the brink of collapse.
- qwery 3y agoI think its worth it. Godot is an excellent game engine / community / project / software. And you can do whatever you want[0] with it and its source code with no chance of having that taken away from you. I doubt Unity is going to disappear any time soon, but they are doing a pretty good job of demonstrating the benefits of free software. [0] obviously the MIT license does technically come with some conditions
- 999900000999 3y agoUnity keeps doing stupid things. It's still much more mature than Godot, but at what cost.
- pixelbyindex 3y agoYou can always start ramping up by doing side projects or prototypes with Godot while keeping your main on Unity. The day is coming when Godot will get its own AAA rendering implementations, and people will migrate en masse.
