Remote collaboration fuses fewer breakthrough ideas
- andsoitis 3y ago> we find that among distributed team members, collaboration centres on late-stage, technical tasks involving more codified knowledge. Yet they are less likely to join forces in conceptual tasks—such as conceiving new ideas and designing research—when knowledge is tacit Recognizing a problem is the first step and I am not surprised by this conclusion. What I'm most interested in is what tactics (organic and formal) mitigate this problem because remote work provides so many other benefits to individuals, companies, and society.
