This is not true. PFAS could be limited to industrial use which theoretically can be done safely. In fact there are many toxic chemicals that are safely used everyday with the right precautions.
- jdiff 3y agoSure, there's some hypothetical world out there in the multiverse where it's not true. We live in this one, though, where they were used flippantly despite knowing the risks and where the genie is out of the bottle. PFAS are everywhere and they are not being used with care.
- rowanG077 3y agoI simply disagree with the statement: "this tool is dangerous so we don't use it". We abused PFAS, that doesn't mean it should be banned wholesale. We just need to ensure we safely use it, just like hundreds of other dangerous tools humanity uses every day.
- jdiff 3y agoAnd I simply disagree with the statement "PFAS can be used for both good and evil, don't blame the tool for its use." The tool is dangerous and needs to be used with care. And right now it's not being used with care, and it was sent out into the world with reckless abandon and that should be dealt with so that this story stops repeating.
