One still has to pay the same price for the subscription as those that get a better catalogue, not to mention the differences in purchasing power. I struggle to see how avoiding in some sense unethical business practices is (as) unethical. EUIPO nicely published a study recently that very clearly says that it's primarily a service and economic issue. The amount of available service providers and the amount of piracy heavily correlated.
