- brookst 3y agoI can't believe Levine runs through a series of arguments for OpenAI being worth more than $86B, or less than $86B, and then hits: > More than $86 billion, for technological reasons. One precipitating event of the boardroom coup might have been a breakthrough in OpenAI’s research. Reuters reported that “several staff researchers wrote a letter to the board of directors warning of a powerful artificial intelligence discovery that they said could threaten humanity,” ...and couldn't come up with a counter-argument for why a humanity-threatening discovery could lower the value of the company.
