Does anyone know what the state of FreeBSD is these days regarding the possible support of CUDA devices? It always pained me that installing it as an OS on my old hardware meant losing access to that, and a large part of the usefulness of the GPU therein.
- vermaden 3y agoThe 'Enterprise Working Group' is also working on better support from Nvidia - also for CUDA: - https://wiki.freebsd.org/EnterpriseWorkingGroup https://wiki.freebsd.org/EnterpriseWorkingGroup From what I have seen on Twitter - the CUDA works in Linux Binary Compatibility layer on FreeBSD currently.
- sgift 3y agoI just did a quick search and it seems to work using the Linuxulator as a bridge - here's a tutorial that makes use of it: https://github.com/verm/freebsd-stable-diffusion https://github.com/verm/freebsd-stable-diffusion Native CUDA support doesn't seem to be on NVidias roadmap for FreeBSD, unfortunately.
