as an alternative, you may add `1s` after `github` in your address bar to open the repository with a browser-based VS Code, and then use Ctrl + Shift + F to search across all files
- jve 3y agoWhy do it via 3rd party if you can just change github.com to github.dev and get 1st party VSCode? Or better yet, just press "." (dot) character on keyboard and VSCode will pop up. - Andoryuuta 3y agogithub.dev also requires being logged into github.com.

- benterix 3y agoA useful tip, thank you, but I think it will ask you to authenticate which is the OP's main gripe. EDIT: No, I was wrong, you can search it without authentication.
