What? North American is more than 3x the size of Australia.
- Grimburger 3y agoI'm seeing 7.6m km^2 vs 9.8m km^2?
- mgbmtl 3y agohttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America 24,709,000 km^2
- sarchertech 3y agoThat’s the size of the US, not North America.
- sowbug 3y ago> North [America] is more than 3x the size of Australia. A generously loose interpretation of the original claim is that the continental US, rather than North America, is about the same size as Australia. Which is true.
- sarchertech 3y agoThe sizes match, but I’ve never heard someone use the North America to refer to the US. Someone else replied to the comment with “we also have a dessert almost as large as North America as well”.
