Ask HN: Are there health insurance companies tracking your fitness data?
I was wondering if wherever in the world you’re located whether health insurance companies are offering the opportunity for you to link your fitness data (ie, Apple health, Google fit etc) and adjust your insurance premiums to reflect the level of health/fitness evidenced by your fitness data?
If not, what are some of the likely reasons insurance companies are not doing this?
Also, if this kind of thing is available, would you sign up for it? Why/why not?
- shyn3 3y agoThey need unhealthy people so they can make money by selling your data to pharma companies. Insurance is not esurance. Learn the English language.
- Quinzel 3y agoWhat if I told you I already learned the English language?

- Quinzel 3y agoI’m willing to bet I’m more educated than you are. Go get petty over semantics and obsolete forms of insurance elsewhere.

- Quinzel 3y agoI find it quite amusing that someone critiquing another person’s comprehension and use of the English language would define ‘educated’ as ‘retarded.’ Hath thou ever read an English dictionary?
