"They" want us back in the office or to even replace us with AI simply because the only insight they have is from their incompetent middle management and they're only seeing it get worse. It's almost as if one should understand the business they're running if they want it to succeed. Perhaps they don't and nihilistically bide their time believing their feet will never have to touch the ground as long as they still have money they equally and severely misunderstand.
