And what about async promises? Those really make it hard to reason about what the system is doing.
- lmm 3y agoNot if they're just values. They make it hard to reason about the system if they mutate variables - even then, mutating local variables would probably be ok, the problem is they mutate distant variables through references. In the language design the article is proposing, async promises would not cause trouble (though by the same token they would be quite limited in power).
