does cycling computer box via power button count as killing processes?
What about logging out? (without using hup on processes)
Switching lights off does kill the enlighting process for most people.
Car running out of gas and/or turning off a car counts as killing a running engine process.
Monthly fuel/electric bills tend to run on the high side if processes are not killed -- although renicing processes on computer may result in power button recycling sooner too (somewhat dependend on swap space / memory space and other things running on computer box)
