Most of the safety efforts are talking down to the plebs as if they're kids who'll definitely run with scissors if you give them some.
And it's wasting "safety" budget in that direction that's most likely to precipitate the DoomAGI. It's literally training the AI to be paternalistic over humans.
- sigmoid10 3y agoI disagree. If I had to guess, I'd still say that human use of AI will destroy society, not some superintelligent doomsday AGI that decices on its own that humans need to die. I've already seen tons of people "run with scissors" as you say it with ChatGPT and I fully expect this to get much worse in the future.
