- giantg2 3y agoEven at 150mph in a residential zone? That was the sort of speeding being discussed. Yes, minor speeding here in the US is similar. Many states will arrest you and impound your vehicle if you do 26mph (or 31, etc) over the limit or exceed some predetermined spped like 99mph. Similar if you are found to be racing, or performing any action the police see as "reckless endangerment" (including of oneself and nobody else).
