I'm a little skeptical that Dual Channel at 551 kbps results in noticeably better quality than Joint Stereo at 328 kbps as opposed to just using more bits encoding redundant information. At least for most music - eg stuff that isn't intentionally playing around with different recorded tracks on left and right.

- rjmunro 3y agoI can't hear any difference. I think the sample music provided might not be the best - it's too electronic and processed already, my brain doesn't know what it's supposed to sound like.
