I don't agree that it is unnecessary. I think Spotify's aesthetic and design is one of the things that keeps people from moving over to other platforms. Nobody wants to use programmer art software. And these things are more carefully considered than most people would believe. Granted, I have this opinion about shovelling money at podcasts creators, and I'm sure someone could tell me the same. But you know, 200mill for Joe Roegan. Ugh.
