Open source is rotting the ground benieth propriatary software companies. Those who have understood this fact have shifted their strategy. Every piece of software can and will eventually be open sourced. It is only a matter or time. The silly argument saying open source lags behind, by comparing specific pieces of software, does nkt hold. There are pieces of open source software that are miles ahead of propriatary counterparts and which dont stand a chance in catching up. The productive force of millions of developers piecing togetger gazillions of open source pieces of software is (and will become even more) unmatched by single company entities. Companies will not be able to hire the hords of people that are/will be working on some open source piece of software for free.
