The IVO Quantum Drive That Defies Known Laws of Physics Launched Into Space

- progne 3y agoSo if the cubesat moves it's a huge engineering and economic advance and a possible physics revolution. If not, collective yawn. All played out in public right above almost everybody. If it moves Mike McCulloch becomes famous. What a great science story, whatever happens.

- ano-ther 3y agoThe theory behind it: https://quantizedinertia.com/ https://quantizedinertia.com/ The company website is not very informative about how the Quantum Drive is supposed to work: https://ivolimited.us/#ZeroFuel https://ivolimited.us/#ZeroFuel
- cedws 3y agoOh no, sounds like a rehashed version of EmDrive, which was pretty conclusively debunked as nonsense.

- elcritch 3y agoI’d say calling it “debunked” is disingenuous. Sure it was a long shot, but the early results showed some chance that is was a real effect. But similar to the LHC’s “superluminal data” it was examined. Sometimes scientific advancement happens in unexpected places. In the end some labs did some really cool experimental work with micro-newton forces and self heating apparatus to show that it didn’t work.
