I just upgraded my top-spec Intel MBA from 2020 to an M3 Pro MBP. Adjusted for inflation, the M3 was about 20% more expensive for close to infinitely more performance. I could see holding on to this M3 Pro as my daily driver for 5-10 years assuming I don't drop it too many times. I'll probably replace my wife's MBA from 2018 next month for whatever the bottom spec MBA is now.
