Banning discrimination based on caste is good, full stop. It harms people. Certainly go after the other discrimination systems -- no one is arguing not to.
- bell-cot 3y ago> What are you...so we should stop...? No. I'm not interested in arguing about the article's law. (Which sounds nice in theory - but may have loopholes a blind elephant could wander through, or other "but only in theory" defects. IANAL.) Partly, I am mocking the "water from recently-noticed puddle is discovered to be wet" narrow-mindedness of the WP's story. Partly I'm laughing at the hypocrisies of the Democratic party. And partly I'm hinting that both public discussions and laws about such things should be more broadly framed. If it reached sufficient scale and severity, then discrimination by DC Comics fans against Marvel Comics fans would become a serious social problem, and whac-a-mole legislation is simply a poor approach.
