Everyone is inconsistent. The main thing this article illustrates is that Sam is not some really logical person with a heart of gold that he often tries (and succeeds) to portray himself as. He's just a typical sv tech bro out to make a name for himself and himself only. The hero worship is what is completely off character here. People are so viciously against his firing as if someone fired Mother Theresa or some other moral paragon. For much of the time no one even knew why he was fired and they already assume the worst.
